Additionally, the main compartment's grid style organization may find a user struggling to find an adequate location for wider or longer pieces of equipment that they may want on the inside of the backpack. I still find it strange to awkwardly "shoo" away the back-straps from the path of the zipper when opening the backpack. This means the elastic-adorned face of the backpack will be face down while the primary compartment is being accessed. This backpack opens in main compartment from the shoulder-strap side of the backpack. These are not criticisms but instead notifications for perspective buyers as things to expect to get acclimated to. There are a few aspects of this backpack which make it feel unfamiliar. It is black, rectangular, with Rotor Riot's signature logo on bold but tasteful display around the product. A backpack with a quad affixed to the outside is already going to draw attention in public but the Rotor Riot Backpack exterior design does not exacerbate this. The aesthetic of the backpack is clean and inconspicuous. When utilizing the quick access side door along with the aforementioned top compartment, I can typically plant down my backpack and be the first pilot in the air. My local FPV community tends to meet in places such as business parks or urban features where table and bench real-estate may be limited if available at all. This enables the user to retrieve and stow fragile equipment such as FPV goggles and cameras from within the backpack quickly while keeping them safe when not in use. With quick access being a design target of Let'sFlyRC, designer of the Rotor Riot Backpack, a small zipper operated doorway to the inside compartment was included (with a grey zipper clearly identifying it as such). All of this essential flight equipment becomes effortlessly accessible from the top of the backpack. These battery packs could easily be swapped out for several small cinewhoop batteries, a pair of large long-range batteries, or even a abundance of tiny-whoop packs. I am able to store a popular medium sized radio and six of my freestyle batteries in that compartment alone. Speaking of that top compartment, never before have I wanted a backpack feature so badly and not known until I'd received it. All the zippers and clips secure strongly without issue and the molded hard-topped compartment is a wonderfully pragmatic cherry on top. This rigidity, coupled with elite material choice, aids in keeping the Velcro dividers firmly in place while being jostled during handling. To begin, the Rotor Riot Backpack has a stiffness and rigidity akin to a high quality piece of traveling luggage, immediately conveying confidence in its ability to stand up to even the most upset airline crew members. Having now purchased, packed, and utilized the backpack, I can confidently say that it stands as the best choice I could have made. Once I saw news of the Rotor Riot Backpack begin to sweep across the various social media platforms, I speculated that it would be a good fit. Since I began in the hobby, I would place my delicate gear into individual cases and pack them into a standard, top-load backpack. I spent a lot of time deciding which backpack to choose. However, I feel as though the Rotor Riot Backpack is worthy of the time and effort to speak about it. This post stands as one of less than 5 times I've taken the time to sort my thoughts and write a short article for product feedback. I do not typically write reviews on products.
